Madras Curry is a relatively new British-Indian spice blend that's versatile. Our own creation is based on the classic blend, with a slightly more European twist.
Our Madras curry is refreshingly mild and aromatic, combined with a pleasant mustardy heat. Whether spicy, hot, or fruity: this balanced blend caters to all tastes. Our curry owes its freshness to the Coriander seeds and the Cardamom adds a light citrus note. It tastes delicious with poultry, fish, and vegetables, but our Madras curry also enhances the hearty and savory currywurst.
Our Madras curry is prepared in our spice factory according to meticulously refined and closely guarded recipes before being coarsely ground and placed in our ceramic pots. This preserves the valuable essential oils and aromas. Shake the spice again shortly before use, toast it in a pan, and then finely crush it in a mortar and pestle. It tastes best when prepared with cream or coconut milk.
Worth knowing:
Madras curry is virtually unknown in India – it was first created by Indian restaurants in Great Britain. In India, it was once a province whose capital was also called Madras. The city has been called Chennai since 1996, developed around the British Fort St. George in 1640, and today has more than 6.5 million inhabitants.
